Great European Road Trip Self-Guided Motorcycle Tour

Where you choose the date and set the pace
Start / Finish in Milan - Italy

Tour Information

This fantastic Self-Guided Motorcycle Tour will take you through some of the most spectacular regions of seven different European countries including Italian Dolomites, the Swiss Alps, Slovenian Alps, Champagne region of France, Luxembourg, the Black Forest and Bavarian Alps of Germany and Austrian Tyrol.

A relaxing day ride from Milan will take you across the border into neighbouring Switzerland. Your first destination is traditional ski resort of Zernez, which is perhaps better known as a ski resort and winter playground. However, as summer arrives the whole region rapidly transforms into a fantastic motorcycling destination.

The next morning you’ll continue your journey cross the border and arrive to one of the most attractive biking areas in Europe. In the Black Forest you’ll stay in one of our biker-friendly hotels, with an excellent restaurant and well stocked wine cellar.

Your next destination is the small historic town in the heart of Luxembourg with its medieval fortified hilltop castle and scenic white water river. Your three star hotel is situated in the centre of the town overlooked by the castle and has all en-suite rooms, secure underground garage, indoor swimming pool, a lovely terrace with beautiful views, a restaurant and bar. The hotel is also well located for short strolls around this fantastic small medieval city and convenient for visits to the local bars and restaurants. With its beautiful wooded hillsides dotted with small towns and villages, rivers that wind their way through undulating countryside and fantastic biking roads Luxembourg comes across as a bit of an unexpected but pleasant surprise and an ideal place to take a day off, sit down and relax.

There are many reasons to visit France but there is only one real reason to visit the Champagne region and that is to sample the wines and experience the champagne tradition.

On your way to the Champagne region you’ll have ample opportunity to explore the French countryside and its picturesque villages, to enjoy perfect motorcycling roads, and to take in magnificent scenery.

After leaving France behind once again you return to the Black Forest. From here you can explore Lakes Titisee and Schluchsee. Take a ride to Feldberg, the highest mountain in the Black Forest, visit the historic town of Freiburg and the Roman spa city of Baden-Baden and off course not be forgotten – ride the famous and exhilarating Schwarzwald Hochstrasse or better known as the B500.

Whether you like passing through the open country side and peaceful alpine villages, visiting baroque castles and medieval towns, riding scenic mountain roads and passes or simply having a spot of lunch or a slice of cake somewhere in the quite town square your next destination Bavaria has it all. Your three star hotel is conveniently located in the centre of the charming Bavarian town and close to many traditional bars, cafes and restaurants. Here, you still find typical Germanic traditions in their original form.

The next stage of your journey will take you to the heart of the stunning Austrian Alps – the Lungau region. Your base for next two days is a chalet style hotel with spacious en-suite rooms, luxury wellness and spa area, beauty and massage therapy, bar, restaurant with traditional food and amazing selection of wines.

Upon your arrival, you’ll receive a free road map with the most beautiful routes around the local area and as far as the Julian Alps in Slovenia. Your hosts are keen motorcyclists and are more then happy to assist you in choosing the best rides or if you wish you might decide to make the most of your time and join some of their guided day trips that may include the B99, Nockalm and Maltatal Strasse, Sölk Pass, Tauern and Turrach Pass and of course the rollercoaster – Grossglockner High Alpine road.

From Austria you’ll move on to your only Eastern European destination – Slovenia. It is one of the smallest Alpine countries but often referred to as the ‘hidden gem of Eastern Europe’. While transiting this beautiful country you’ll ride through the stunning Triglav National Park and see some of its most famous landmarks such as Lake Bled with its church on the Island and Lake Bohinj where mountain scenes and tranquillity meet together.

The last two days of your tour you’ll spend in the most spectacular Alpine region – the Italian Dolomites. Here the choice of great biking mountain roads and passes is endless and includes some of the most famous ones such as Passo di Gardena, Passo di Sella, Passo Pordoi, Passo di Compolongo and Passo di Castalunga.

This motorcycle holiday has it all – great country roads and mountain passes, carefully selected biker-friendly hotels, stunning scenery, delicious local cuisines and fine wine – a true European Road trip and once in a lifetime safe biking adventure.
