Eastern Europe Guided Motorcycle Tour

Tour Information

This splendid Eastern Europe motorcycle tour is a safe adventure. It is also one of our most established tours. In order to maximise our time at destinations we’ll be using the overnight motorail services.

The following morning, after disembarking from the train we’ll continue our journey. We will ride across the Austrian Alps and arrive in Ljubljana. Weather permitting, the highlight of the day includes riding over the Gerlos and Grossglockner passes. And also, spot of lunch at the Krimml waterfalls.

The Slovenian capital city, with its Austro-Hungarian architecture, rich culture and traditional cuisine is second to none. The city also proudly wears a label of being the Greenest Capital in Europe.

Our day off here can be used to take a stroll to the town centre to visit some of its many tourist attractions. Also the ones who fancy riding can opt to go on a day trip. It will take us along the scenic routes of the surrounding picturesque countryside.

Next, with the beautiful Julian Alps mountain range behind us and river Sava as our guide we enter the Panonian Plains of Hungary. This is also our furthest and the most Eastern destination on this tour.

For lunch we shall stop at the medieval Sumeg castle. You will have a chance to taste goulash or paprikash. These are both excellent Hungarian specialties.

Our hotel is situated in the little spa resort on the shores of Lake Balaton. The lake is the largest mass of water in this part of Europe. Since the Roman times it has also been famous for its healing properties.

From Hungary we’ll cross into Croatia. Our route will take us to the Zagorje region of Croatia. Our base is another spa resort located in the forests of Zagorje hills. It is renowned as one of the best wine growing regions in Eastern Europe as well.

The next morning, we’ll follow winding roads through the undulating Zagorje Hills. It will take us towards the breathtaking Plitvice National Park.

After the tour of the lakes and lunch we will continue our journey across the rocky plateau. Surrounded by the rugged peaks of Velebit and Dinara mountains we will arrive at our hotel in a small fishing village in Sibenik area.

Regarding our day off here we have several options. We might decide to go on a boat trip to River Krka National Park. It is another example of Croatia’s many magnificent natural wonders. With its towering canyon cliffs, cascading waterfalls and lush woodlands it is an idyllic retreat for a day.

We might also opt to go for a ride further up the coastal road. Have a drink and explore some of the beautiful fishing villages and towns. These include Sibenik, Primosten as well as Trogir. And finally if we take a fancy we might just find a nice spot on the beach and do nothing.

As we move on we will join the famous Adriatic coast road. It is a true rollercoaster and certainly one of the best biking roads in Europe. There are many small towns and villages along the route. They all offer a great choice of traditional restaurants and fishing taverns. So we shall take our time and enjoy it.

Our final destination in Croatia is the coastal resort of Porec. On our day off we can visit the remains of the Roman amphitheatre in Pula, the old town of Rovinj, Hum (the smallest city in Europe numbering only seventeen residents) and the medieval hilltop town of Groznjani which is also an artist colony.

Our holiday might be coming to the end but it is not completely finished yet. We still have one more day of riding some fantastic roads back to Triglav National Park in Slovenia. Here we shall lodge in a comfortable hotel in a beautiful ski resort of Kranjska Gora. And from there, on our way back to Innsbruck our route will take us across the stunning Italian Dolomites. It is a great end to a great Eastern Europe guided motorcycle tour.
