The best of the Alps - Bavarian Alps , Austrian Tyrol, Italian Dolomites and Swiss Alps - all in one tour.
This is a fantastic motorcycle tour that includes four of the most beautiful Alpine regions: Bavarian Alps, Austrian Tyrol, Italian Dolomites and Swiss Alps. You’ll ride some of the most exhilarating and challenging mountain roads and passes, visit some of the best known tourist attractions and pass through some of the most famous Alpine destinations.
After a short channel crossing you’ll ride along almost traffic-free roads through rural French countryside towards your first overnight stop in a three star hotel situated in the heart of the Aube region. The next morning you’ll continue your journey towards the Black Forest where you stay in a delightful family run biker-friendly hotel.
From here you move on to your first Alpine destination and the well known ski resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Alps. The town is overlooked by Germany’s highest peak Zugspitze which can be reached by taking a mountain train and a short ride on a cable car. Your free day can also be used to take a ride to Fussen to visit the magnificent castles of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. Your hotel is conveniently located in the centre of the town close to many traditional Bavarian bars, cafes and restaurants.
Onwards over the Fern Pass into Austria where you’ll base yourself in a four star hotel located in the picturesque town of Zell am See surrounded by panoramic views of the lake and snow capped mountain peaks. The day excursion may include a ride to the “Eagle’s Nest”, Hitler’s mountain-top hideaway that was built for him for his fiftieth birthday.
The next morning you’ll ride over the Grossglockner mountain pass and continue towards the Italian Dolomites, your next port of call. This is an unspoiled region of ragged peaks, crystal clear lakes, vast forests, green pastures and traditional Alpine villages. Here you’ll stay overnight in a three star hotel that has an indoor swimming pool, wellness centre, safe parking and its own restaurant.
From the Dolomites you move on to Switzerland, riding the challenging Umbrail, Stelvio and Bernina mountain passes and arrive at your next destination, the world’s most glamorous ski resort of St Moritz. En route you stop to explore the charming medieval alpine village of Glorenza.
To conclude your Alpine Circle Tour you’ll ride over the Fluela pass and continue to the Black Forest.
However, prior to your return to the UK, you’ll still have two days of riding some fantastic almost traffic free roads through Germany and France.
