This is a captivating motorcycle tour that we’ll take us into the heart of Austrian Alps. With it’s picturesque motorcycling routes, picture postcard towns with ornately painted houses, snow-capped mountain peaks, impressive waterfalls, magnificent glaciers, delicious traditional cuisine and high quality hotels this tour is certainly the perfect opportunity to escape for few relaxing days.
This is a leisurely motorcycle tour that’ll take us to the heart of the stunning Austrian Alps.
Here we’ll be able to enjoy magnificent Alpine scenery, ride excellent motorcycling roads, flavour delicious local cuisine, stay in a comfortable four star chalet style hotel and enjoy the worm welcome of our hosts.
On our way to Austria we’ll have two overnight stops in the Aube region of France and the Black forest in Germany.
During our stay in Tyrol, the choice of great biking mountain roads and passes is endless and includes the most famous of them all - the Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
With it’s 36 hairpin bends the pass will take us to the dizzying heights of 3,798 m. It leads directly to the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park ending up at the magnificent Pasterze Glacier where we usually stop for our well deserved lunch. Judging by the previous experiences the pancakes always appear to be a popular choice. At the same time if you choose your restaurant table strategically you’ll be able to enjoy your meal and take in the most spectacular view of the magnificent peak of Franz Josef.
One of the free days can be used to visit Kitzsteinhorn glacier by taking a cable car or the glacier underground railway to the Restaurant Alpincenter and enjoy the astonishing views over the Kapruner valley.
The ones interested in WW2 history may opt to take a ride and visit the “Eagle’s Nest”, Hitler’s mountain-top hideaway that was built for him for his fiftieth birthday.
To round up this fantastic tour of the Austrian Tyrol we shall take a ride to a unique natural wonder, the Krimml Waterfalls. With it’s 380m vertical drop the Krimml are the highest and most dramatic waterfalls in Europe.
The end of each day riding and exploring can be marked by plunge in the swimming pool, relaxing in the sauna and steam room or if you prefer it have a drink or two on the sun terrace or the bar.
On our way back to the UK during the last two days of this fantastic tour we’ll be riding some of the most fabulous country roads through German and France.
A great one centre motorbike holiday that will appeal to those who want more than just a motorcycle riding trip.
