Tour 6 - Swiss Alps Motorcycle Tour
8th - 15th August 2010

Switzerland is tailor-made for those who enjoy riding in the mountains.
With its spectacular scenic roads rising to great heights and through dramatic scenery, Switzerland is a perfect country for motorcycle riding.
We shall ride routes that include some of the most famous mountain passes such as Furka,Grimselpass and Susten.
Lauterbrunen, our base for two days, lies in a narrow alpine valley squeezed in between the towering mountain peaks of Jungfrau, Eiger and Mönch.
Our hotel is of three star quality, with en-suite rooms, safe motorcycle park, drying facilities and its own restaurant. Lauterbrunen is a popular tourist village close to many shops and restaurants and also to the rail station which makes it the ideal starting point for either going to Interlaken or joining one of the numerous Alpine train journeys.
On our days off there will be the choice of riding the mountain roads to the ski resort of Grindewald or visit the spectacular Trummelbach waterfalls.
Those who don’t fancy riding may take a cable car to the alpine garden on the Schynige Pllate or visit the summit of the Heimwehfluh and the Top of Europe / Jungfrau that can be reached by a short ride on a funicular railway.
From Lauterbrunen we move on to our next destination at the world’s most glamorous ski resort St Moritz, which is perhaps better known as a ski resort and winter playground for the rich and famous. However, as Summer arrives the whole region rapidly transforms into a fantastic motorcycling destination.
Here we’ll stay in a three star family run hotel and use it as our base to venture into Italy to explore the Stelvio National Park, the charming alpine village of Glorenza and ride the challenging Stelvio, Umbrail, Ofen, Julier and Fluela mountain passes.
On the return leg of our tour we shall pass through Liechtenstein and the Black Forest in Germany.
This tour presents us with a great opportunity to ride some of the most spectacular mountain roads in Europe.
