Tour 3 - Eastern Europe Tour

Ride through the gentle landscapes of Hungarian and Serbian plains, along the stunning Adriatic coast and over beautiful Julian Alps in Slovenia. Experience unique tradition and customs, authentic cuisine and first class Balkan hospitality.
After a short Channel Tunnel crossing we’ll ride across Holland and northern Germany to board the overnight Motorail to Austria.
With the beautiful Karavanke mountain range behind us and river Drava as our guide we enter the Panonian Plains of Hungary.
Our base for one night is the little spa resort near Lake Balaton with its own thermal lake.
Our route towards Serbia will take us across the vast Hungarian plain (Puszta) which during the 5th century was the playground of the Attila the Hun and his tribesmen.
Our furthest destination on this tour is our hometown in Serbia. This is a historic town built by Austro-Hungarian Empress Maria Teresia during the 18th century. Here we stay in a four star town hotel within an easy reach to the city centre.
From Serbia we move on and by crossing the river Danube we enter Croatia. River Drava, our guide once again, will take us towards Zagorje region and village of Kumrovec, the birthplace of the late Marshall Tito.
To continue this fantastic tour in a true Balkan fashion we have booked a private banquet room in a castle for a traditional medieval dinner. Here we’ll have a unique opportunity to taste some Croatian traditional dishes and sample a variety of locally produced wines.
The next morning, we shall follow winding roads through the Zagorje Hills towards the breathtaking Plitvice National Park where we’ll stop for a tour of the lakes and for lunch.
Our journey continues by descending in the direction of the Adriatic coast and to our next destination, a four star hotel located near a small fishing port. The hotel has its own excellent restaurant, indoor swimming pool, sports and leisure facilities, private beach, sauna, massage, beauty therapist and secure parking.
A free day presents us with a choice of going on a day ride followed by a short boat trip through the gorge to visit the magnificent waterfalls of the river Krka …….or just parking the bike and exploring the town and making the most of the hotel’s fantastic leisure facilities.
Following the scenic coastal road we ride half the length of the fantastic Adriatic coast with majestic blue seas to our left and the stunning mountain ranges of Mosor and Velebit to our right.
Our next destination is the costal resort of Porec and a three star hotel near the marina with a restaurant, bar, various treatment services and facilities, outdoor swimming pool and safe parking.
On our day off we can visit the remains of the Roman amphitheatre in Pula, the old town of Rovinj, Hum (the smallest city in Europe numbering only seventeen residents) and the medieval hilltop town of Groznjani which is also an artist colony.
The final destination on this tour is Slovenia and our four star family run hotel at Lake Bohinj which is situated in an idyllic location with panoramic views of the surrounding mountain peaks of the Julian Alps.
