Tour 12 - Greece Tour Fly & Ride

If you are thinking olive groves, cypress trees, ancient monuments, delicious Mediterranean cuisine, tasty local wine, spectacular scenery, friendly people and fantastic biking roads winding through tumbling hills and mountains then book this tour and think no further...

After a short flight from UK you’ll lend to Greece where your tour officially begins. You’ll be met at Thessaloniki airport by your local guide Thanasis who is going to take you to the hotel, which is located in the centre of the city. After a quick briefing and sorting out your motorcycle hire paperwork, to be ready for riding next morning you will spend your first evening meeting the rest of the group for the welcome dinner.

The next morning you’ll leave the city behind you and by riding some easy B-roads your tour heads towards Poligiros, the capital of Halkidiki area. After a coffee stop at he picturesque coastal village of Pirgadikia and lunch at a small tavern by the sea, you’ll soon arrive at Ouranoupolis. Using your hotel as a base you’ll have next four days to explore this fantastic region.

Your first day excursion will take you on a circular ride around Kassandra peninsula enjoying stunning scenery, visiting quiet fishing villages and riding along some of the most beautiful beaches.

The next morning you guide will take you into the Northern part of Halkidiki region where you’ll have opportunity to ride some almost traffic free mountain roads. On your way you’ll visit the Olympiada, ancient city of Stagira - the birthplace of Aristotle, village of Varvara, small town of Arnea and an open air museum featuring Aristotle's inventions.

The next two days are the rest days where you’ll have choice of exploring the area on your own accord and convenience. You might choose to take a forest ride to Sithonia peninsula. In an instance that you do not fancy riding there are several touristy options that’ll allow you to fully experience this magnificent region. You might opt for more relaxing way to spend a day or two by taking a boat tour around Mt. Athos or a short ferry ride to the tiny island of Amouliani. Or you might simply decide to sit on the beach and soak up some well deserved Mediterranean sun.

On your return leg to Thessaloniki you’ll ride through Poligiros - the capital city of the region and stop for lunch at Agios Prodromos - a small village well know for the dozens of it’s taverns serving delicious local dishes.

Upon your return to the hotel you’ll have plenty of time to take a stroll around the city and have your goodbye dinner with your hosts and your fellow travellers.

Greece still remains one of the undiscovered motorcycling destinations in Europe. Take advantage of the local knowledge provided by your native hosts and fully experience this country’s rich tapestry of history, culture, food and hospitality.
