Chaotic, mad, loud, stressful, but beautiful. The driving cannot be worse, some of the roads are awful. All that is forgotten once you have ridden the mountain passes of the Dolomites, ordered a meal in a restaurant, visited a museum, had a cappuccino and a slice of cake in a café, or gone to see any kind of motor racing that involves an Italian car, motorcycle or bicyle. Stick to the Alps, Dolomites and Tyrol region, avoid big cities and you will enjoy Italy. Italy, any time.
