Frequently Asked Questions
What distance do you normally ride in a day?
The most we would ride in one day is about 300-350 miles. However, we like to stick to about 250 miles. It also depends on what kind of roads we ride. If it is a motorway then we cover a longer distance. If we ride A and B roads then it is usually shorter.
Do you ride in a group or does everyone rides at his/her own pace?
It all depends. Each trip tends to be different. The group usually breaks down into smaller units. As long as everyone arrives safely at a destination we are fine with whatever riding arrangements are agreed.
What type of bike would you recommend for touring?
If it is a shorter tour where comfort and luggage are not an issue then any bike over 400cc will do. For a trip that is longer than 4-5 days, and you have a pillion as well, then a larger capacity machine would be more advantageous.
What is the average age of your clients?
The average age tends to be 35+ but everyone is welcome.
Do you welcome female riders?
It is not just that we welcome female riders but we also try to encourage them to join our tours.
Do you offer a support vehicle?
No, we do not offer a support vehicle. We believe that carrying your own luggage is a part of the touring experience. Having a support vehicle would mean higher tour prices. We can, however, organise one if absolutely necessary.
Except Dover do you use any other departure ports?
Anything can be organised. If you have special requirements regarding departure ports please get in touch.
Are there many pillion riders joining your tours?
There are more and more pillion riders joining our tours.
How flexible are the departure and return dates?
It all depends on your exact requirements. We try to be as flexible as possible.
What standard of hotels do you use?
3 star and above.
How fast do you ride during your tours?
Because I cannot afford to risk my riding licence I usually follow the speed limits.
How secure are the hotel car parks?
Secure parking is one of the main criteria regarding our accommodation selection.
Are all meals included?
On riding days all breakfasts are included as well as evening meals. On days off we usually allow people to make their own eating arrangements. This gives you an opportunity to explore the area.
How do you choose your destinations?
Most of our destinations we have visited ourselves at some point during our touring or skiing holidays. We also get lots of ideas from other riders and write-ups from touring magazines.
Do you ride every day on a tour?
No, we do not ride every day especially during the longer tours. We try to include as many days off as possible. We try to give you enough free time to explore and enjoy the destinations.
