Which Country Should I Choose?

Eastern Europe

As we come from Eastern Europe we perhaps have more inside knowledge about that part of Europe than some other tour operators. However, the only Eastern European countries we include in our touring programme are Slovenia & Croatia. We like it there, we speak the language, food is good, roads are exceptionally well maintained and the scenery is outstanding.

It is a small country and probably the only place in Europe where you can ski in the morning in the mountains, have lunch and then go for a swim in the Adriatic sea in the afternoon. The Czech Republic is also a good destination and very similar to Slovenia but not as mountainous so we like it less, although last year we had a good trip to Brno Moto GP.

Hungary and Poland offer good value for money but they are very flat countries so we do not get very excited about them. The recent acceptance of these four countries into the EC makes it much easier to travel to them.

Expect, however, to have your passport checked on entry and make sure that it is valid for at least six months. One thing that needs to be remembered is that these countries have been isolated for a long time and the standards may vary. If you go there have an open mind, do not expect too much and you will enjoy it.

One more thing, give Russia a few more years before you decide to go there.
